Richard divides his time between taking care of pianos across Metro-Detroit for the clients of his personal piano tuning practice, Aligned Harmonics, in addition to caring for the spectacular collection of new and used pianos at PianoNation Direct in Wixom, Michigan.

In February 2019 after selling his internationally respected custom piano keyboard manufacturing company, Detroit Pianoworks (now Reyburn Pianoworks), to a major piano tuning software developer, Richard returned to his roots as a concert piano technician and industry consultant by joining the staff of national piano wholesaler and distributor, PianoNation Direct in Wixom, Michigan as our new Technical Director. Since 1998, piano technician Richard Cromwell, has helped private piano owners, concert venues, conservatories, universities, recording studios, churches, dealers, and rebuilders, around the world to maximize their pianos’ performance potential.
